Disney Magic.....

This past week was Thanksgiving and we had a lot to be thankful for. Not only did we have our amazing baby girl to share the day with, but we also got to spend the day (the entire week actually) with her at Walt Disney World. It was AMAZING....exhausting to say the least, but absolutely amazing. As a mom who loves Disney, I've found that there is nothing better than experiencing the magic through your child's eyes. Bailey had a great time and did really well with meeting the characters, except Santa which should not leave my lap to go and see (actually, she wouldn't even him touch her hand :).

My parents (YiaYia and Popo) came along for the trip and were not only a huge help with our active toddler but, I believe, were blessed as much as we were with watching Boo experience Disney.

I took close to 300 pictures, which I reduced down to just about 150 and from that number I posted 12 pictures here. If you'd like more, just shoot me an e-mail. One picture, I will say, makes me a little sad...it's a picture of Bailey running next to a "big girl" (probably around age 4 or 5). Bailey was working hard to keep up with her and I wanted to say, "slow day baby girl..you're already growing to fast for Mommy". This picture is a look into the future for me. As we walked around Disney, I saw babies in their strollers; babies about the same age as Boo when we brought her last year. I looked at them and thought, "gosh, Bailey was that small last year"; when I look at this picture of Bailey running next to the older girl, I realize that soon she will be that big girl.....and "soon" is a word that is some days too fast for this Mommy. Parenting is bitter sweet I've decided. It's awesome to see your child grown and turn into this little person, but in order for that to happen, they must do just that...grow. I've decided that the growing happens too quickly. But...enough of my sadness! Our week was fantastic and my baby girl is amazing! :)

Lots of love to you all! I hope your Thanksgiving day, was as magical as ours.

Another week in the life of my beautiful Bailey....

This week brought cold weather to Atlanta. Bailey does not go outside without a heavy coat and hat. It puts a damper on our outdoor playtime, but she just makes up for that with extra energy inside :)

Next week, we'll be at Walt Disney World. Bailey is fast following in her mother's footsteps and loving everything Disney. I'll do my best to get some good photos while we're there and post them next week.

The photos below are from this past week...Bailey in her fancy winter coat (this is not her play coat, but a coat more purchased for YiaYia so Bailey can follow in her, girly-girl footsteps :), one picture of Bailey "chill'in" on a mattress topper that has taken up residency in my home office (yes, she is handing upside down) and a few from today (she's wearing the red shirt).

Just some pictures...

Here are some pictures from this week. A couple are from a play date that Bailey had with her friend Evan (Evan is 4 weeks younger than Bailey). The rest are from today, with Bailey playing with her doll house and then a hat of Daddy's that she found. Isn't my beauty too cute?! Enjoy!!

It's all in the peanuts....

My parents (affectionately called YiaYia and Popo for Bailey) are currently living in Dothan, Alabama where, every year, the "Peanut Festival" is held. I think it's suppose to center around peanuts and yes, there were a few bins of peanuts here and there, but really it's just a big fair with animals, carnival rides, booths with art/crafts and greasy food. All in all, a good days fun :) We were blessed with beautiful fall weather: about 70 degrees with clear, sunny sky's and a slight breeze.

Bailey had a chance to see a few barn yard animals and even an opportunity to feed a few with YiaYia, which she enjoyed for the most part except for the fact that she doesn't really like getting dirty (which is sort of a requirement when an animal eats something out of your hand). While I think she liked the animals, she really got a kick out of the tractors and the golf cart/4x4 vehicles. It's funny...she can be so girly, but she is also very much attracted to vehicles and large machinery. For those parents who knew at an early age, what their children would grow up to be, can you tell me what that means? :)

We drove down to Dothan Friday after work and drove back home on Sunday. It's about a 3.5 hour drive which is just long enough for Bailey to start to feel a little stir crazy. She does really well in the car, but when we get to our destination, she's very eager to run and stretch her cute little legs. So, once home, Bailey ran and found her favorite friends (who we did not take with us for fear of accidentally leaving them behind) and grabbed them all up at once for a big squeeze. Squeezes to Piglet, her bunny, Elmo and (of course) her bubbles.

Okay...so I'm trying to figure out this picture thing (as you see, I have added a few) but this program doesn't make it all that easy. If you ever want more, just shoot me an e-mail. Trust me...I have hundreds :)

Welcome Mom, to the world of blogging.

This is what Bailey told me, when we were talking about how best to keep family and friends updated on her and her many adventures....welcome to the world of blogging. I've heard it's addictive, so while my plans (that I feel are optimistic at best) are to blog once a week, as I understand it, I may put pen to paper...or is that fingers to keyboard.. more often than planned.

So, what we're here for...our amazing miracle; our gift from God: Bailey Katelyn Siver. Born February 1, 2007 our little one is 21 months old and truly amazing. She is smart and so flipp'in funny! What a character!

To bring you up to speed on Bailey: Sleeps an average of 10 hours a night, and has since about 10 weeks (thank you Jesus!), she only naps once a day for about 1.5 hrs, she appears to have a slight intolerance to dairy (it brings out eczema on her skin and causes gas pains) so she was on soy formula for the first 12 months of her life but since turning one she has been drinking cow's milk, I just have to watch how much she drinks (or how much cheese she eats). She will eat fresh fruit but only veggies from a jar; she likes chicken and every type of bread/pasta. I haven't given her too many store made sweets but she has had a few bites of ice cream and I do give her these little vanilla organic cookies that she loves. Organic...that's a new one for me, since having Bailey I've discovered a whole new world and realized just how poorly Tom and I really do eat. Speaking of Tom, he's a wonderful daddy. He and Bailey have a great time playing together and she really takes after his, shall we say, "gift" of talking :) Bailey's vocabulary is exemplary; she probably has close to 50 words that she uses. It seems like she picks up a new word every day. She loves to read and has recently discovered a love of Lego's. Her newest found friend is Piglet (from Winnie the Pooh), she carries this stuffed animal around everywhere...that and a bottle of bubbles (don't ask me why). Bailey goes to Gymboree twice a week; this is a play group where toddlers play and learn socialization skills as well as how to follow directions (the teacher does a couple of small activities). She also has Sunday School and play dates with her first little friend Evan (she and Bailey are 1 month apart and were fast friends from the womb as her mom and I became friends while we were pregnant with the girls).

Since turning 3 month's old, Bailey has been my work side-kick, my personal assistant if you will :) I'm blessed to work from home and have not only a very flexible work schedule but also a wonderful boss. This has allowed me to keep Bailey at home with me and not put her in daycare. A huge answer to prayer for me. This is the next best thing to my only job being a full time stay-at-home mom.

Okay...so, here's my first post! I need to figure out how to add pictures so I'll work on that this next week. That and my next post :)
