Birthday Party, Fast Food and Fun....

Today one of our friends threw a birthday party for their son. This was the first birthday party where Bailey actually understood what was going to happen. When I told her, yesterday, that we were going to a birthday party.....she immediately smiled and asked, "cake?". :)

The party was at a local restaurant, Chick-fil-A. It's a nice "fast food" restaurant that is actually pretty clean and the food isn't too horrible for you. This was the first time, ever, that I did not bring Boo some food to eat (except for some organic applesauce and a few pieces of cheese). Outside of that, she ate some chicken nuggets and fries just like the other kids and even a few bites of cake and ice cream.

This restaurant had one of those play areas, another first for her. Because we've never fed her "fast food", we've never spent time in a restaurant with a playground. This one was pretty clean and did not have one of those ball pits (one thing I would never let her go in....read/heard too many bad stories). She had a GREAT time. LOVED it. It was such a nice morning that as we were leaving I told Tom that we'd have to come back in a couple of weeks for dinner. Below are some pictures of the morning. The last slide picture (all yellow), I actually crawled up in the side to get the picture as she was coming down. The very last one was on our way home; Bailey was cracking up to a song that I was singing her.

Hope you've all had a great week! Lots of love to you all....

Wild Woman....

Bailey is a nut :) There isn't a day that goes by, where she doesn't crack us up with something she says or does. She's simply a silly, silly girl. Yesterday I was making the bed in our room and I had the room purifier on/running. Boo decided to take the opportunity and do her best Marilyn Monroe impression. Like I said...what a nut :)

Running and a Boo-Boo

Bailey loves the outdoors and, when out there, she loves to run...and run...and run. All that running produced her first real outdoor boo-boo this past week (she fell on the driveway). Poor baby, she was so upset by it that she didn't want to stay in her bath later than night (another favorite activity, so I know it was pretty sore). She's starting to heal and, apparently, was not too (mentally) wounded as this morning she was outside and once again running and running and running :)

Tea Time and Hair Time with YiaYia and Popo....

My parents stopped by yesterday for an overnight visit on their way up to Washington state (they're sightseeing their way across country back home to visit my brothers). As always, Bailey was thrilled that they were here. Letting them leave this morning was a bit tough for Boo and it will be a good 4 weeks until we'll see them next so...it will be a long stretch.

Below are some pictures of tea time with YiaYia (along with a mirror break when YiaYia had an eyelash in her eye) and some "hair time" with Popo. If you'll notice in the pictures with Popo, Bailey is up on his shoulders and grabbing onto what few strands of hair are left on the side of poor Popo's head :)

Riding in the mall....

Bailey loves the little cars in the mall...you know, the kind that take quarters (or dollars now as Popo has pointed out). She's still young enough that we don't need to put quarters in them, she's simply thrilled with playing/sitting on them. Today we spend about 2o-30 minutes in the Cumberland Mall on these little cars, after a trip to Costco (another favorite of hers :). And, yes, the picture at the bottom with Bailey "racing" the car does make us fearful for those teen years (when she gets her driver's license)....but not as fearful as the preview we got today when I called for her (as we were trying to leave to go to the mall) and she yells back to me from the living room, "I'm on the phone!" (her play phone). Two and a half and I'm already having a tough time getting her off the phone.....yep, we're afraid...very afraid :)

Hope you all had a wonderful week!

Lots of love....

4th of July....

YiaYia and Popo drove up for a wonderful visit this weekend. It was nice of them to come up as it was, technically, "our turn" to drive for the visit. We appreciated the sacrifice of their time (and comfort as it's a long drive and their bed is not here...so sleeping can be a bit rough).

As always, Bailey loved her time with them. She may only be (almost) 2.5 years old but, she genuinely gets excited to see them and spend time with them. It's wonderful to watch.

Below you'll see a picture of Bailey eating a cute little Cinderella cake (her favorite Disney character). I took pictures of this 1) because the cake was so cute and 2) because this is the first time ever that Bailey touched a cake and then ate some! At her first birthday, she cried when her hands touched the frosting and at her second birthday, she was more interested in the ice cream that went with the cake so.....here we are, 2.5 years old and (finally) pictures of Bailey eating "birthday" cake :)

The other pictures are of our day at the Mall of Georgia. Bailey rode a train with Popo, the Merry Go Round with Daddy (she kept wanting to hand me her ticket :) and then played in the mall's fountain. It was a really nice day....

Happy 4th!

Just some pics....

I've been trying to post a video for the past few days, but have been unsuccessful. I'm not sure if there was a change in the blog format, or with the format error on our end but.... no luck (yet, I'll keep trying!).

Below are some pictures from this past week. Just day to day stuff with our beautiful girl. The two pictures with the Disney stuffed animals on the couch...I was washing some dishes and she was very quiet in the living room. I went out to check on her and found her sitting on the couch with all of her "friends" (as we call them) surrounding her. She had put them all up there, and then pulled them around her :) The second picture.. the one with the really big, silly smile is what I get when I ask her to, "say cheese" :)

Have a wonderful 4th of July!
