STORY TIME....

A couple of days ago, the kids were very quiet.  Now...usually that's not a good thing however, as I walked quietly down the hall, I could hear Bailey talking very sweetly and the door to Brandon's room was open; the light was on.  I turned the corner to see this...Brandon sitting on Boo's lap while she sat there and read him a book.  Sooo sweet.  Gotta love these moments.  Of course, 5 minutes later he was screaming because she had gone into her room without him (she didn't want him to get her toys) but hey...those few minutes were priceless :0)

HAVE A GOOD DAY DADDY...

The kids love to watch Daddy leave for work in the morning; they rarely miss the chance (love).

Standing on his tip-toes to see Daddy :)

Nice mosquito bite son... (poor babies, they eat both of them up!)

Happy first official day of summer! :0)

They both had a blast!!! :0)

I only had to run in after him one time...after that first face
full of water, he was content with walking around the fountain :0)

19 MONTHS...

and wonderful.  Our little man turns 19 months today and he is sweet, funny, impatient but (most of the time) easy to please, a wild man, a cuddler, a huge fan of the water, his toys, babies or other kids, food and his family.  He is wonderful.

Brandon Elijah now prays.  It's the cutest thing ever.  This started about 4-6 weeks ago; he'll hear me say it's time to pray, and he'll clasp his thick little hands together.  Kills me.  For a couple of weeks, I thought he was squirming while I was trying to pray over him at night (most nights he's laying across my chest down onto my left arm when I pray for him)...then one night it was a bit early so the daylight was still peeking through the curtains and I could see him:  He was trying to get his sweet little arms around my arm so he could clasp his hands together and pray.  Makes me tear up now just thinking about it.  Such a sweet, sweet boy.

Brandon is a lover.  He will give me squeezes, and I mean REAL squeezes, full-on real tight hugs.  He'll give me kisses and he'll run up to me saying "mama, mama" and bury his head into my legs or chest (if I'm standing or sitting).  He loves to sit with me and read.  Still loves the "How does a Dinosaur" books...he'll sit for a good 20 minutes and listen to me read them.  When you ask him, he can point out a cow, pig, horse, duck, bird and lamb.  He loves to tell you what a cow, bird and duck say :)

Polite.  This sweet boy says "thank you" all the time.  He also tells people "hi" and "bye" which can hurt because people are often so busy (in public) that they miss this sweet baby talking to them so he just sits there and sweetly stares at them, waiting for a response.  Of course I realize that not everyone else's lives revolve around my little man as mine does...so I respond for them :)

Brandon still adores sissy and he genuinely gets excited when daddy comes home, or when he gets to call YiaYia and Popo on the phone.  So far, there's not really any foods that he doesn't like and he's a dare-devil so there are not too many things that he won't try.  His vocabulary and comprehension has really picked up this past month; you can really see him starting to form into a little boy.

19 Months....wow.  Happy "birthday" little man.  We love you.

This was his first time at the sand table so...lots of concentration :o)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...

I'm blessed to have two wonderful men in my life (well...three if you count my little man...okay five if you count my awesome brothers:0); to my beautiful hubby and my dad (Popo) - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Today we decided to venture outside of our normal outings and man, am I glad we did! We drove up to Helen, Ga...what a great little town!  Reminds me a lot of a town back home (Leavenworth, Wa).   The town has a distinct Bavarian style.  There are small shops and restaurants, plus putt-putt and river rafting/tubing.  My guess is there's more to do in the area, but we didn't get up there until pretty late in the day so our time was very limited.  We are definitely planning a trip back before summer is over!

Best "cool dad" look :0)
Something we will definitely try next time we are there!!

SO CLOSE...

No matter how many times I try, getting a "self-portrait" of the three (or four) of us is so tricky!  I can't seem to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time...let alone to smile.   The last picture below was sooo close.  Now if only I had held the camera a little farther out! :0)

MORE WATER FUN...

One benefit to our hot Georgia days?   The water table and popsicles.  Okay, I guess that was two benefits :0)

Our beautiful girl....

Love this picture, and the one of Brandon below.
They have the same smile :0)

NOT BAD FOR $13...

Well, $13.22 to be exact.  Still, not too bad for what we got (I actually had to pull the Earth's Best food pouch from my cupboard for the picture as Brandon ate his while we shopped :0)

I'm no extreme couponer by any means (then again, who really needs 50 boxes of cereal...I mean, those things do expire!) however, we are on a really tight budget so I work hard to try and find some good deals. No surprise that unhealthy/sugar food is often the cheapest but I did get lucky and about half of our small haul yesterday wasn't too bad (peas, vegi/fruit juice, low-fat mayo, etc).  Altogether we got:

2 bottles of body wash by Dial
2 bottles of mayo
2 packages of Keebler cookies
1 Earth's best food pouch
1 bag of frozen peas
2 containers of ice cream
1 package (8 count) of vegi/fruit juice by V8
4 boxes of coffee/crumb cake (excellent with really hot coffee!)
2 jars of spaghetti sauce

Oh...and if you throw in the free cookie from the bakery for my special helper below, then again I'd have to say: not too bad :0)

WORKING HARD...

The difference between girls and boys?  Girls work to fix or clean up....boys work to tear-up or make a mess.  At least, that can be the case with my two :O)

The wheel on Boo's toy stopped working, so she had to take
it apart and try to figure out why :O)

Meanwhile....brother did his own "taking apart"  :O)
