Nap time...

Bailey moves around a lot in bed. She's done this from very early on...as soon as she could figure out how to roll and move around, she was all over her crib. Lately, however, she's discovered her covers. We have a video monitor on her which I LOVE (God help her, because I'll probably watch her until she's 10 :), so I'm able to see her move about. In the past, she's been cover-free. I would cover her up, but then she would move around and kick the covers off. Now she'll wake up and pull the covers up. During this nap, she was all cozy with her covers, her bear and two another "friends" (as we call them)...Pooh and Piglet. She looked so cute that I had to grab the camera.

Hope you all had a great week!

Such a big girl...

Bailey's a tall girl. God bless her, because I don't know where she got her height from but she's consistently been in the top 75% for her age. Sometimes I look at her and am amazed she's only 3! But being tall is not what I meant in the title, "Such a big girl...". She's such a big girl as she continues to grow, change and amaze us. Every week she seems to do something new; something she couldn't do before. She's figuring out how to ride her big girl bike. This past week, I took her to the Silver Comet trail for a test run and, while she only went a few feet at a time and in 30 minutes we did not go far, dog-gone-it...she did it!! She did GREAT! I will say that teaching her how to ride a bike has been a challenge for me. I'm not the best teacher so it's a huge lesson in patience. I was so proud of her efforts! Oh...and I know, she should really wear a helmet, but it was 90+ degrees outside and I knew she would be passed up by most snails so... I figured we were okay this time out :)

After the bike ride, Bailey noticed that the fountain at the Silver Comet was finally open (they installed this a few years ago, but only had it running for a couple of months...I think because of the drought). She was SO excited to see this but, one problem...mommy didn't bring a swim suit. We solved that problem...get wet in your clothes! There was only one other parent there with their little girl so, it worked out just fine and Boo had a GREAT time!

Hmmm...I don't think my shirt is wet enough..

Yep, this should do it! :)

Hey...where did the water go (she didn't realize she was standing on it)

She stepped back and the water spouted out; she thought that was hilarious :)

Hope you've all had a wonderful week!

Another week of warm temps here in Atlanta. This meant several water activities including: two visits to the water part, one swim/play date with Bailey's friend Katie and an evening running through the sprinkler in our backyard. Lots of fun for boo...a little tiring for Mommy (and YiaYia and Popo as they help me with her at the water park :). It's great watching her have so much fun though! She LOVES the water!

The Disney store had bathing suit covers on sale and since we love all things Disney, we purchased a cute Minnie Mouse cover to match the Minnie Mouse bathing suit that YiaYia bought.

Hope you all had a great week!

Sparkler fun...

I'm always looking for a way to save a dime and a great way to (sometimes) do this, are the dollar bins at Target. A couple of weeks back, I saw sparklers for a buck and thought, "hey...Boo will get a kick out of these". Well...she did really like them, but they were a bit disappointing. The sparklers we had as kids were big and very "sparkly"; the ones from target were more like flames with a sparkle here and there. Lucky for us, three year olds don't know the difference :)

Praise God for America...and cement.

This weekend, Popo came over to finish up some new cement steps by our back door. He loves doing cement work which is such a blessing because Tom and I know absolutely nothing about it! We are so thankful for all of his efforts! Such a great gift!

Bailey too got to have some fun in the cement...well, sort of. She had to get her hands dirty (not her favorite thing) but she does think it's pretty neat to send her hand prints and name (and Mickey :), in the cement.

Today is the 4th of July. We thank God for the chance to live in a country with, truly, so many blessings. We recognize that our country needs God, and we pray that she turns towards him, but we also acknowledge all the blessings this country still affords. Today we went to church. We went to church and we praised God. We went to church and we praised God and no soldiers stormed into stop us. This is a freedom that we will fight for.
