Not a fan of the doctor....

My daughter has a very good memory; so around 12 months, she realized that when I take her to the doctor it's because something is either wrong or, she needs a shot. Needless to say, she not a fan of these trips, as a matter of fact, she starts getting upset from the moment we pull into the parking lot. This past week, I took Bailey in for her 2 year "Well Baby" check up. I've never heard my daughter scream like that; had no idea the child had that kind of lung power....and that was just when the poor nurse was trying to weigh her! It was quite the trip but, we made it through and at the end both Bailey and I were exhausted and the staff (I'm sure) cheered the moment the exit doors closed behind us. Outcome from the visit: Bailey is wonderfully healthy (lungs, obviously very healthy), 34 inches, 24.5lbs and now up to date on the immunizations we've elected to give her up to this point.

Here are some pictures from this week. Tom went to Florida to visit family for a few days and stopped in Gainesville, the town of his first love (The Florida Gators); there he picked up a couple of cute shirts for Boo...one is pictured below.

Love you all!

Three Generations....

Last week I probably overloaded you with the amount of photos I posted, so this week I'm just posted one. But it's a good one.

Love to you all...

Photos, photos and more photos....

We've had a great week...so I have lots of pictures to show you (actually, these are all from yesterday...I was a little camera happy :). Bailey enjoyed her first week as a 2 year old. She sang herself "Happy Birthday" several times as she played with her new toys. Part of that is my fault as I've given her several different gifts over several different days. Tom says I've instilled in her that it's not a birth"day", but a birth"week". Sounds good to me! :)

After several days of cold weather, we finally had some wonderful temps. yesterday (close to 70) so we took advantage of it and went to the park. Bailey LOVES the swings. It's hard to get her off once it's her turn. Lucky for us, the park we went to yesterday had several swings so she didn't have to share and was able to swing for a good 30 minutes or so. After the swing, we walked around the slides and monkey bars and Bailey made some new friends. There were a few older girls playing. They were very sweet and let Bailey play with them, especially this one little girl Annie who told me that she was 8 AND 2/3 years old :) These girls were taking the bark from the playground and putting into small bags; when I asked what this was for, Annie explained that there was this "mean boy" in her neighborhood that bothered them so they used the bark to throw at him :) Bailey's pretty passive, she runs away if someone is bothering her, so I had to laugh when Annie told me of their plan.

After the park we went to dinner and then for ice cream. Bailey got her first ice cream cone (a small "kiddie cone"). She's tried ice cream before, but she's never got to hold a cone and I wasn't sure how well it would go as Bailey does not like to get dirty but...after a bite or two Bailey announced that she "loved it". That cracked up Tom and I, plus another couple walking by. Then it was back home and potty training (Bailey's doing great and, as you'll see by the photo, it's not traumatic for her :).

Hope your week was as wonderful!

Super Sunday...

This past Sunday was Super Sunday in our family. Not because of the Super Bowl, but because our miracle baby turned 2. Our baby girl is now two years old. The time has gone by so fast that it's hard to believe. God is so good; we are so incredibly blessed. She is such an amazing little person and it's such a gift to have her and watch her grow.

On Saturday, we drove down to Alabama to celebrate with YiaYia and Popo. Bailey had a Tinkerbell themed dinner and even got to help YiaYia decorate the cake. When it came to eating the cake though, she wasn't all that interested but, she really liked the ice cream and...of course, the gifts! She even tried to blow out her candle, which went well until she got some smoke up her nose...then she was over it ;)

We drove back up to Atlanta after church on Sunday and got home just in time for Tom to leave to go watch the game with some guys (I encouraged this fun activity :). So, at 6:34pm on Sunday, February 1st (Bailey's date/time of birth) Mommy and Bailey sat down to watch her birth video and I got to sing Happy Birthday to my baby girl. It was perfect. During the birth, Bailey had a tough time and when she came out, she wasn't too responsive; in the video she actually looks a little irritated as if she'd rather be doing something else (which, really, who could blame her?) well...as I finished singing Happy Birthday, Bailey wasn't irritated (actually she gets a kick out it, when you sing that song to her) but she was interested in doing something else: "watch a video" she kept asking. She was ready to watch her Mickey Mouse video on t.v. It was a Super Sunday....

Bailey, then and now....
