CHILLIN WITH DADDY....

Tom's a great Daddy. He'll be the first to admit that he's not a fan of the baby stage but...once Bailey hit around age 2, he really started to have some fun. He does a great job of loving on his little girl and now that the surgeon has given him the call clear on his back (thank you Lord!)...he can finally go back to picking her up. Bailey LOVES this, especially since Mommy isn't able to pick her up right now so...he's definitely become her "go-to" guy when it comes to getting those free rides. Then again, he's often her go-to guy....that's what makes him such a great Daddy.

SNAPSHOT OF OUR WEEKEND...

HAPPY EASTER!

We pray that each of you had a wonderful weekend celebrating our Lord.

Our weekend was busy and wonderful. It started on Friday, with a party at Bailey's school. The kids had an Easter egg hunt and then a party with, of course, lots of sugar. Bailey quickly learned how to put a big handful of jelly beans on her plate. When I asked her to stop eating them and to try eating the chicken fingers instead, her reply was "well, these are good". Yep...she has her Mommy's sweet tooth :)

On Saturday, we went down to visit with some friends who recently relocated from Mableton to Peachtree City. They have a lovely large home and had invited several family and friends over to celebrate. We had some good food, great fellowship and the kids LOVED the Easter egg hunt (Danny and Weslee had put out close to 300 eggs!). By this time, Bailey was really getting the hang of it and was running to each egg. It was a lot of fun. Weslee loves to embroidered things and she and Danny were gracious and bought each child their own bag (which Wes embroidered with each child's name). Bailey loves hers and is now using it as her school bag :)

On Sunday, Bailey was able to wear her fancy Easter dress. She is such a girlie-girl; she loves wearing fancy dresses. We had a wonderful time at church together; such a great day to celebrate.

Baby is doing well...if she's a girl. If baby is a boy, we might have a problem. Boo has been asking for a baby sister for about a year (she still doesn't know/understand that I am pregnant). Her school taught about Easter these past couple of weeks and a few nights ago I checked on her (she was suppose to be sleeping) to find her standing up in bed, curtain pulled back and blinds open. She told me that she had to find Jesus up in the clouds and ask Him for a baby sister. Made my heart melt. Now, each night before she goes to sleep, I get to hear to pray to God in her own simple 4 year old way. Curtain open, blinds pulled back looking for Jesus in the clouds. It's the most precious thing to hear. Brings tears to my eyes just writing this. We have Bailey pray for dinner most nights, but it's a prayer that we've taught her so, it's not...from the heart. Not really I guess. I mean, I think it's still great and we want to instill prayer in our children, but there's nothing better than hearing your child use their own words when they talk to God.

Happy Easter....we love you all.

BIKE RIDER...

Bailey loves to ride her bike. She's gotten so good at it, that she is now telling Tom and I that we need bikes....just so we can keep up with her :) What happens now, is she goes ahead a good 50 to 75ft ahead and then we yell for her to stop; she'll slow down or stop and wait for us to catch up and then we do it all over. Last week I took Boo to the Silver Comet trail so she could ride. She saw a bench about 1/2 mile down and decided to pull over and rest so we could, "feel the breeze" (it was a little windy :). I took this picture, on my cell phone.
On the baby front...everything is going well. This time around I have "morning" sickness and am more tired but .... Praise God for the blessing!!
Lots of love to you all!

WE HAVE ANOTHER MIRACLE ON THE WAY!

LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
This verse was sent to me, by my good friend Tracy when I shared our news with her. Thanks for loving on me Trac :)
God has blessed us with another opportunity to be parents. One more opportunity to love, share and (hopefully not) screw up another little person. We feel so completely blessed. We haven't shared the news with Bailey yet as baby isn't due until Thanksgiving so...we'll wait until the time gets closer. At 4 years old, you still think that Thanksgiving is tomorrow :)
Today I am 7.5 weeks. I've had two ultrasounds and both were wonderful giving us the opportunity to see baby's heart beating away....such an amazing sight!! I've been pro-life my entire life but after being a mom, the passion is even greater. I think every woman should have to have an u/s before having an abortion. My first u/s was at 5.5 weeks...before most women know that they are pregnant and make that choice to abort. If those women could see their baby's heart beating...how many lives would that save?!
I'll post updates on the blog as well as belly shots from time to time. Please join with us in praying for a healthy baby. I will be 40 in August, so the risk factor is definitely higher however...GOD is a GOOD GOD and we are trusting in Him.
Love you all!

FAMILY TIME!

Here are some more pictures of our trip to Oregon. We had some beautiful weather there, which gave us the chance to play some putt-putt. For Boo, her style was to "push" the ball into the hole...rather than hit it with the club :) Later, while the others golfed, she found some rocks and dirt to play with....this of course didn't surprise us at all :) In one picture, Stacy Jo is telling Popo (in a too-small hat he borrowed from Josh), that it only took her 5 strokes...not the 7 he claimed :) The last couple of pictures are of The Couey Family at grandpa's birthday dinner. Family time...doesn't get much better than that!

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!

This past weekend we flew over to Oregon for my grandfather's 90th birthday. My parents, brother/wives came down from Washington and my uncle/wife/cousins and aunt came up from S. California. We had a really good time. Even though Boo was meeting the extended family for the first time, and we had a 3 hour time difference, she did really well. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone. Below are a few pictures; I'll post more in a couple of days once I've caught up from being out of town :)
