Daddy...

Yesterday was Tom's birthday. Happy Birthday Babe! Here are a couple of photos of my two loves hanging out...something they love to do together (especially this time of year for Tom with football season just starting....Tom will watch TV and Bailey will play on the sofa next to him :)

Bailey has a favorite activity...anything with YiaYia and Popo or as she calls them, "my YiaYia" and "my Popo". She loves them like crazy. If we go somewhere, Bailey always asks if YiaYia and Popo are going. As a matter of fact, I can go to pick her up from their house and if she doesn't want to leave, I'll say something like, "okay Boo...I'm going to go then and leave you here". Yeah....she could care less; her usual response is, "okay...see you later!".

Thanks kid, I feel the love :)

Finger painting...

Bailey is all girl...which simply means she does not like to get dirty. Well, that and she likes clothes...both traits she got from her YiaYia. So, I've waited 3 1/2 years before introducing finger painting. Up until this point, she has gotten upset if the marker she was using got ink on her hand so when I explained to her that we were going to do a new craft and that that craft including paint and her hands well, let's just say she was curious.

Off we went to the front room of the house where we put on her art shirt and Boo looked through the box of paint that I had bought her. Bailey quickly chose purple. She watched me put the paint on a paper plate and then looked at me with this look that said, "Yeah...now what?". When I told her to put her fingers in the paint and then put her fingers on the paper...to my surprise, she dove right in! She had a great time but was definitely ready to wash her hands by the time the paint ran out. Looks like our girlie-girlie might have a artsy side :)

Oh...quick update on preschool. The first week really well! Bailey started to open up about what she was doing in class towards the end of the week (she attends 3 mornings a week for 2.5 hours). She seems to be enjoying it. As for me, I've worked at the church most mornings but Friday I did step away for an hour and a half for a work appointment and this Wednesday YiaYia and Popo will drop her off/pick her up as I have a work meeting so....we're both growing a little :)

First day of School!

Today was a big day in our home...it was the first day of preschool for Bailey. She's going to a local church for a few mornings a week. They had a "meet-n-greet" earlier this week, so Bailey got to meet her teacher, see her room and play on the school's playground (her favorite part :). I took some pictures of her at school then as I figured it would be less stressful then today. This morning she woke up excited to go to her "big girl school". We got dressed, ate breakfast, she put on her Minnie Mouse backpack and we headed off. When we got to school, Momma put on a brave face, took her to her room, kissed her goodbye and pushed her towards some kids that were playing. Then made it (almost) out the classroom door before crying. The church has a "cafe" area with Wi-fi so I was actually able to stay (I brought the laptop) and get some work done. I was able to hear Bailey's class and watch her on the playground with the other kids (I was careful not to let her see me). She did really, really well and while I think the next week or two may be an adjustment for her (for us both)...I think she'll end up enjoying it.

Her school schedule consists of learning time, playtime, outdoor time and snack time. On Wednesday they have library and music class and on Friday's they have chapel. I've also signed her up for Ballet on Friday's after school. Bailey use to do Ballet at a local community center, but we stopped that about 6 months ago. She's excited to start again :)

Pizza Party!

This past week, Bailey went a friend's birthday party. The party was at an Italian restaurant and the kids got to make their own pizzas. Bailey had a lot of fun :) The parents throwing the party bought the kids chef hats and aprons with their names on it. I know it's tough to see from the REALLY small picture below (sorry, it's off the cell phone), but Boo's hat says "Chef Bailey". It's really cute. I'm going to try and remember it, when we go to Disney and the Chef Mickey restaurant in October... could make for a cute picture :) Also attached is a video of Bailey (and Mommy) making her pizza. She was more interested in eating the cheese, than putting it on the pizza but...Mommy helped with that :) Oh, and it was pretty late (about 7pm at this point) when they got to making the pizzas; that's why I'm helping her out so much. The video is also off the cell phone, so I think it's a bit grainy (sorry).
