MY LITTLE HELPER...

Boo announced yesterday, that she wanted to do the dishes.  She was so cute about it...scrubbed those two cups for a good 10 minutes!

She was super proud of herself...mommy was pretty proud too :0)  Proud of what a great job she did and amazed at just how tall she's gotten.  I looked at her growth chart and she's grown almost 2 inches since March!  Goodness girl...no wonder there are days you can clean your plate and still ask for more!

ONE SICK KID...ONE HUSBAND OUT OF TOWN...

and one room to paint.  That was my weekend :0)  Boo is on the mend and the room is complete...minus the paint smell that insists on sticking around.  Note to self:  oil primer is great, but don't forget the mask next time (open windows only help so much!).

22 MONTHS...

and he calls me Mommy.  This past couple of weeks, our little man has started to call me Mommy.  Most of the time it's Mama (which I love)...but from time to time, I now get a Mommy (which I also love :0). Brandon's baby voice is so sweet, melts me every time.

Stats:  Brandon is now 34 inches and 28 pounds; according to the grown chart, he's 50% for weight and 65% for height.  He wears a size 6 diaper and size 18 -24 months in clothes (a few 2T fit him as well).  Feet are still wide (possibly extra wide) and he is currently a size 5.5.  His eyes are still blue and his hair is now a light brown.  He has 13 teeth, including 4 molars.  He'll eat anything in sight and I've found very little that he doesn't like (except milk from a cup...having a tough time with that one so he still gets 2 bottles a day).

Our little man's vocabulary continues to increase: now, when he says good-bye, not only does he say "bye-bye" and then "take care"...but he's tagged on "see you soon". Very cute.  When I put him down to sleep, I'll tell him nigh-night and he tell me, "nigh-night, take care, see you soon".  Then I whisper, "I love you" and he tries to whisper that back.  Melts me.  Oh...and every night, as I pray with my children, I tell them "You are a beautiful, wonderful, child of God".  I've done this with Bailey since she was around 2 years and Brandon since birth.  Now, because he knows what I'm going to say, Brandon get's so excited to hear me say this.  You can tell that he's trying to figure out how to say the words because he'll mutter some sounds (bink in his mouth of course) and then when I get to the word God, he smiles and shouts GOD!  Love it.

Boo has her school desk in the office/play room and Brandon loves to sit there.  He really likes to color (pens, pencils, crayons... he likes them all).  Little man is so sweet that he'll crawl up on one of the chairs (there are two) and he'll say "Mama" and then try and pull out the other chair because he wants me to sit next to him and color.  He's such a sweet, sweet baby.  This morning, he was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (loves the show) and he didn't want me to leave.  He wanted to sit with me and watch the show. Again...sweet, sweet baby.  He brings me so much joy.

On the flip side, Brandon definitely has my patience level...which means, zero.  He lets you know what he wants (can you say stubborn?) and if he doesn't get it, well...let's just say that he's not so sweet :0).  I love his strong willed nature through.  As YiaYia always told me, strong willed children typically grow up to be leaders.

Lastly, our little man LOVES being outside and going anywhere in the car.  I'm lucky if I make it past an hour (after waking up in the morning) before he's saying "outside" or "bye-bye".  He loves to be on the go.  Gets that from his Mommy as well :0).   This video was from earlier this week.  The kids were playing outside in the water (Bailey had already gone in).  They usually play in the water table and small baby pool, but I discovered the mist function on the hose and that was a huge hit!  (edited:  just added a second short video from earlier in the day where he is "helping" sissy)

YOU'RE SO FUNNY...

Love watching these two play.  She can still make him laugh, harder than anyone else... :0)

Boo was pretending to be a lion :0)

Love those ears and his messy hair :0)

THE TISSUES...

We have this box of tissues on the table, by our couch, in the living room.  I insist on keeping it there, simply because I like having tissues readily available.  The availability is to everyone....and while that sounds like a good idea, to our little man, it often times sounds like, "it's time to take a tissue and "blow" your nose, then stuff the tissue back in the box and repeat with 5 other tissues"  :O).

So, as you can see in the pictures below...the box is topped off by several "used" (not really, but he thinks he is blowing his nose) tissues.

Sure, I could put the box in the bathroom or out of his reach in the living room but... I wouldn't change a thing.  I love seeing these stuffed little tissues.  The same as I love stepping over their toys, folding their sweet clothes, even saying 20x during the day "not quite so loud" or "slow down the running please".  I love that I have two beautiful miracles "messing up" my life.  I love my messy, blessed, life.

SOLID, LIQUID AND GAS...

Today, Bailey's homeschool group got together for a Science Day.  The kids got to learn about the principles behind solid, liquid and gas with three different experiments. The pictures below show some of the kids in attendance today; if I had to guess, there were probably 35 HS aged kids there...plus 10+ younger siblings (this particular HS group has more kids, some could not make it today).  To do their experiments, the kids broke up into smaller groups of 6 or 7 per table; after they were done, they had lunch. SUPER fun! :0)

Brandon cracked me up, he so desperately wanted to
be a big kid...he walked himself over and sat down with the group :0)

The kids really liked this one...they got to see the gas in the bottle
inflate the balloon :0)
The kids dropped an Efferdant tablet in some water, to watch the change
from solid, to liquid and then gas (the bubbles).

Eating lunch...once again, Brandon wanted to join in
with the big kids, even though he had already eaten :0)

Little man's favorite thing, was finding the pulpit so he could
preach like Yia Yia :0)

FLAG FOOTBALL...

Our girlie-girl is playing football :0)  Flag football with Upwards Sports (yes, we love them).  I gave Bailey the choice, between cheerleading for the football teams and playing football; she chose to play!  The first practice, she was less than thrilled because she got mud on her...and she didn't appreciate that the other players were running after her (she had the ball and they were trying to pull her flag).  Now that she understands that it's part of the game, she still not thrilled with it....but she's warming up to the process.

She REALLY does NOT like the mouth guard they have to wear.   She can usually get away without it during practice, but for the games they are required to wear one.  The first game was this morning and I think she spent most of the one hour game, frustrated that the thing was in her mouth :0)

For part of today's game she got to play quarterback, which I think she really enjoyed simply because she got to boss people around (or so she felt as though she could do that :0).  Unfortunately, she was not a running quarterback (bad call coach!); I think she would have enjoyed running with the ball...plus she's older than several of the kids so she has some height/leg length on them.  No worries though, over all she had a great time and we're looking forward to next weekend's game!

SHOP TILL YOU DROP...

Okay, we didn't drop because it was only for an hour...but sometimes with little ones in tow, an hour can make you drop! :0)  Actually, I have to say, this trip they did really well.  I was super proud of them.  I was also pretty proud of myself as this haul was a decent one.  Spent $33.64 and got the following:

2 large boxed of Cheerios
4 10-pack (100% juice) apple juice boxes - these will come in super handy with team snacks!
3 bottles of washing detergent (was very excited to find the 4x concentrate...about time they saved on the plastic!)
2 boxes of Mott's fruit chews (another great one for those team snacks :0)
5 canisters of shaving cream (didn't really need these, but had some GREAT coupons)
2 boxes of Cheez-its (Boo's newest quiet-time snack)
4 boxes of coffee cake mix (yes...still love this stuff with hot coffee :0)
2 boxes of Hefty slider bags (quart size)
5 boxes of Nature Valley granola bars (easy breakfast for Tom)
1 Ceasar salad mix
1 bottle of salad dressing
1 dozen mini bakery cupcakes (heck...got these things for 25 cents so, couldn't pass those up!)
1 jar of diced jalapeno peppers
2 bags of Kettle chips
1 bag of shredded cheeze
2 banana's
1 package of strawberries

My little helpers!
